We are Handmade Event

A couple of weekends ago, I had a stall at We are Handmade, a great craft fair held in Great Dunmow. We had a really busy day and did most of our business in the first two hours! It also seems that the ladies of Great Dunmow are keen crocheters as my bamboo crochet hook packs were very popular sellers! Here are some pics from the day:

These giant crochet hooks are always a talking point!

Prep, prep, prepping!

This Saturday sees the return of the ever popular Vintage and Makers' Market at the Shire Hall in Chelmsford. This market is extra special as there will also be stalls in the High Street (opposite Superdrug) and there are a whole host of excting things to purchase with the odd drop in workshop too.

I'll be there with my wares, and the last few days have seen me preparing my stock and making sure I have everything ready to go. There are a couple of new items for sale and the day is set to be a busy one for all the stall holders as the weather looks promising!

I hope to see you there if you're in the area, so do pop by and say hi! This market is the perfect opportunity to buy an unusual birthday gift or even just a treat for yourself!

Saturday Pictures

This weekend saw me do my first craft fair of the year, and while getting organised for it was all left to the last minute, it went rather well! The ladies of Coggeshall were very interested to know more about my giant crochet hooks and were intrigued to see what you can make with them! At one point I was doing an impromptu demo!

I thought I'd share some pics of the day. The light in the hall wasn't great for taking pictures and someone else was using a flash camera at the same time so some of my pics  came out dark/blurred and then the battery died, so I've only got a few mediocre pics of the day.

First Event of 2012

Tomorrow sees me doing my first event of the year, and marks the beginning of 'craft fair season'. This week I've been getting organised and have made some new items to take along. I thought I'd share a couple of pics of some new memo boards I made.

Also coming along with me to the craft fair this weekend are the giant crochet hooks Mr PC has been making. These have sold well in my Etsy shop, I've sent them to all sorts of intereting places such as Macedonia, Lithuania, Australia, Canada and USA not to mention all four corners of the UK! It seems extreme crochet is a worldwide phenomenon!!

I needed an interesting way to display the giant hooks on the stall so got my thinking cap on:

I found a giant jar and ditched the lid

Then I grabbed some wool and made a jar 'jacket'

I tried to keep the pattern random and used rows of double crochet and trebles

And now the hooks have a home!
If you'd like to get your hands on one of my big hooks then take a look at my Etsy shop where they're up for grabs.

Tomorrow I'll be at Created on Your Doorstep, at the Village Hall in Coggeshall, near Braintree. This free event is 10am-1pm and I hear there will be tea and cakes, so you must pop along if you're in the area!

Christmas Market Tomorrow

This weekend is the Marks Hall Christmas Market and not only am I excited about the whole Christmassy feel of it, but it also marks the 1st anniversary of my first ever stall at a market! I'll be there again this weekend and really looking forward to helping people with the Christmas shopping :)

However, I am certainly not looking forward to spending two days standing in a marquee with no heating. On the plus side, at least there's no snow this year. Last year it was truly baltic. Here's hoping this weekend is not too cold.

If you're needing a helping hand to get into the Christmas spirit, I definitely recommend the Marks Hall Christmas Market to get you in the mood for the upcoming festive season. Come say hi if you do come along!

Sell, sell, sell!

This weekend saw Princess Crafts set up shop (ok it was only a stall, but shop sounds better!) at the Havering Handmade Farmer and Crafts Market and it turned out to be a pretty good day!

The last few days have been HOT, and I'm talking 25-32 degrees - summer has finally arrived! In October. I didn't expect to sell very many of my handknitted woolly scarves at the weekend on account of the scorching weather, but the scarves turned out to be bestsellers! Hoorah! It looks like the ladies of Gidea Park are preparing ahead of time for the wintery weather (which no doubt will be upon us by next weekend).

We also had some great interest in the giant crochet hooks which Mr PC has been making, but more about them in tomorrow's post.

Seeing as we forgot to take the camera with us to take the customary pics of the event, I had to resort to using my iPhone which is not ideal but enought to give you the gist of what the stall was like. So here it is, in all its glory!

PS. Click here to see the list of events I'll be attending between now and Christmas (perfect opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done!).

PPS. My next event is next Saturday in Colchester!

Weekend pics

Last weekend saw me holding my third stall at the Vintage and Handmade Market in Chelmsford and so I thought I'd share a few pics of the stall.

Next Saturday, I'll be in Gidea Park at the Havering Handmade Autumn Fair, so pop in and say hi if you're in the area.

Market preparations

This Saturday I will be at the Vintage and Handmade Market in Chelmford's Shire Hall so I'm busy getting my stock organised and ready to go. It's always a juggling act trying to get new and existing stock ready while continuing to do paid work and run a household etc. This week has been no different and there is still an element of last minute organising but there are some great new ideas in the pipeline so watch this space, people!

If you're in the Chelmsford area, it would be great to see you on Saturday. The market is full of vintage and handmade stalls so theres's something for everyone. It's free entry and the best part is the vintage tearoom run by the lovely Plum Fairy who serves tea and homemade cakes on beautiful vintage china. So if you're out shopping and fancy a bit of cake and mooch round, come along to the Shire Hall at the top of the High Street, 10-4.

Hope to see you there!

PS. If you do come to the Vintage and Handmade Market then you can get 10% off when you spend £20 with Princess Crafts just quote 'blog'.

Mr PC runs the stall

Last Saturday I had a stall booked at a school PTA fair but managed to double book myself with my sister's hen night. I could only attend one event so obviously went to the hen night (I was organising it) which meant that my lovely Mr PC did the stall for me at the school!!

Not many hubbies would do that for their wifey so I am a lucky girl. Mr PC always comes to my events and helps me out so I wasn't concerned about him doing this one on his own altho I did think it might dent his street cred standing there with all my really girlie stuff, seeing as he works at the school! He didn't mind and actually had a pretty successful day! He even took pics of the stall with his fancy new camera, so here they are for you to admire:

Looks good doesn't it? Might get him to do some more stalls...

Handmade rocks!

Hello and welcome to another Monday! The weather where I am is glorious and just so hot, I hope you're getting great summery weather today too!

We had a great time at the Vintage and Handmade Market in Chelmsford this weekend. It was a bit quieter than usual but we met some lovely people and I even got a few bespoke orders which is great news! Here are a few pics from my stall, I laid it out a bit different and I think it worked well.

PS. If you see anything you like, leave me a comment and I'll let you know if it's still available!

Havering Handmade in pictures

On Saturday, I was at my second Havering Handmade and although it was a quiet day for us all, we had a good time and I met some lovely new crafty peeps.

I thought I'd share some pics of my stall, as each time I set it up it looks different. If you see anything that takes your fancy just get in touch and I'll let you know if I still have it in stock!!
