Now stocked in 3 shops!
Hello! A wee bit of excitingness for you, Princess Crafts teacup candles are now available for purchase from three retail outlets (shops, to you and me)!!
*happy dance*
Clare at The Traditional Vintage Flower Company has been stocking my teacupcandles for a while now and they receive many lovely comments (*blush*) and some have even gone to new homes!
More recently, I have started renting a space in the cabinets at the fabulous Make Do and Mend shop which is the most splendid of shops in Chelmsford. The lovely Hannah has set up a beautiful shop showcasing local artists and crafters in addition to the great workshops on offer. You can learn to knit, crochet, sew, make felt and even how to upholster a footstool! Go take a look at her website and book yourself a course, you won't regret it! Here's a few pics of the goodies I've got in her shop at the moment:
And, last but not least, I made my first 'wholesale' sale last week and some of my teacup candles will soon be ready for purchase at the Juniper Florist in Sudbury!
Small steps but big progress, so I'm feeling quite impressed with myself this week!

Racing against the sun
Yesterday saw the first sunny day in what feels like an eternity so I decided to do a photoshoot of all my new candles which have been waiting for the nice weather. I realised I left it a bit late in the afternoon and so had to race against the sun as it was moving over the house to the front garden and therefore the house was casting a large shadow in the back garden. Note to self, do it at midday next time, not 3pm!
I was frantically snapping away hoping to get a few decent shots and I was also moving the table around to get it in the sun as much as possible. Late afternoon sun in our garden casts some huge shadows so that was a challenge, but it has made for some interesting photos (at least I think so).
These candlesare destined to be listed in my Etsy shop over the weekend but I thought I'd give you a sneak peek of a few and if you like any of them you can get in touch and have first dibs cos once they're gone, they're gone!

Exciting opportunity
Last week I had an interesting email from a media company in the USA very politely asking if I would like to be featured in one of their TV programmes called '15 Fresh Handmade Gift Ideas' on the HGTV channel. My immediate answer was 'absolutely'!!
So two of these gorgeous teacups are en route to Tennessee to be featured on American telly!
This is the box all ready and waiting for FedEx to collect:
There was a lot of paperwork involved in organising the FedEx delivery, but thanks to some help from my hubby, it all got filled in properly and they should be there in 24hours. I was rather paranoid of doing it wrong but a call to customer services and several stupid questions soon sorted that out!
So there you have it, Princess Crafts' first TV appearance! I now need to get my skates on and sort my website out before the show airs on Thanksgiving Day...

Delightful Teacups
It has been a while since the last post, but I've been busy behind the scenes with Princess Crafts stuff. Have you been to my Etsy shop yet? If not, go take a look as I am slowly but surely adding new items as I build up my stock. Don't let the price in $ put you off, Paypal will sort the conversion out for you! Alternatively, contact me with your order and I can sort you out!
Among the admin stuff that's been going on, I have been admiring my selection of teacups which are waiting their turn to become candles. I must say, they are all so lovely in their own way that I will be sad to part with them. However, I will be more extremely pleased to see them all go to loving new homes.
Here are a few piccies as a sneak peek:

Would you like a cuppa?
A new lease of life to unwanted teacups!!
I love a good cup of tea (green only!) and I really like antique teacups and saucers. They just remind me of a time when afternoon tea was a daily 'must' and not a special treat like it is nowadays. So, when I found some lovely teacups at an antique shop I had to buy them! However, I'm more of a mug person so these teacups were destined to become functional decorations, in the form of candles!
I'd never made candles before and am surprised how easy it is to do, although I was a bit scared that the melting wax might catch fire, esp as we don't have a fire extinguisher. Our next door neighbour is a fireman so at least I could call him to save the day. But it all went hunky dory except that I ran out of wax before I used all the teacups! So must buy more wax next time.
This one is my favourite and will live on my coffee table as I can't part with it.
All the other ones are for sale, so take a look at the teacup page for more info. Here are some more pics for you:
Matching antique coffee cups
Japanese Noritake antique teacups
Contemporary teacups - these have a Moroccan feel to them
